information on fees

What will it cost?

Fees

The charge for a first consult is $150.00, payable at time of consultation (you will receive a medicare rebate of $93.80, leaving a gap of $56.20).  Pensioners and Health Care Card holders are bulk-billed to Medicare. Fees may change and should be checked with reception at the time of booking an appointment.

Cost of testing varies according to the number and type of tests that you require.  All testing is billed at the Medicare scheduled fee, and tests are bulk-billed for pensioners and Health Care Card holders.  Attendance at the Allergy Centre for immunotherapy is done with the specialist in attendance and is bulk-billed.

Medicare rebates on some of these items may be restricted to a maximum number in a 12 month period.  Out-of-pocket expenses therefore vary between patients.

All our fees (including tests) count towards the Medicare Safety Net which caps out-of-pocket expenses for individuals and families.  To access the Safety Net you will need to register with Medicare (all family members need to be registered individually in order for their medical costs to count towards your family threshold).  The Safety Net is not means tested and lower thresholds apply for pensioners and Concession Card holders.

The Allergy Centre uses the Medicare Easyclaim system for automatic submission of your medicare claim. Your medicare rebate is paid electronically into your account within 24 hours.

We will be happy to discuss projected costs on an individual basis.
